NOTE FROM SSS

A Note From Susan

Good Day,

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Seattle for our exciting Mini Retreat. Thank you to the entire Seattle Committee for their hard work and efforts to make everyone feel so welcome in their hometown. From getting the opportunity to hear Susan Desmond-Hellman speak at the Foundry on Thursday night, Howard Schultz and the other terrific speakers on Friday at the Edgewater, and to our fabulous night of dancing at the Chihuly Garden & Glass, a great time was had by all in attendance!

A special thank you to the Seattle Committee (Nancy Bearg, Phyllis J Campbell, Suzanna Darcy, Amy Fulford, Joanne Gordon Berk, Nina Hsu, Wendy Lane, Jessica Shapiro, Mary Wagner, Charlotte Whitmore) and fantastic Chairwoman (Lynn Hubbard) for all the time they spent planning the event and making sure everything ran so smoothly.

Registration for the Annual Retreat in Chile will open in the beginning of October! If you have not booked your room yet, make sure you make your reservations ASAP, details on how to book your room are below. We have over 60 people who have already booked their rooms so it looks to be a fun and eventful Retreat in January!

We will also be sending out refreshed guidelines, FAQs, and other information on the Grove; please look out very soon, look out for a separate email in the next few weeks!

Remember, dues must be paid by September 30, 2018. Read below for information on how to pay your dues. If you do not pay your dues, you cannot attend Grove events, will not be included in the 2019 Face Book, and will be removed from the Grove.

If you have any updates you would like to share for future newsletters, please email me or Leslie Dube (leslie@belizeangrove.org).

Cheers,
Susan

-Co-founded by Academy Award winner Viola Davis and 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year Phyllis Newhouse, ShoulderUp is a new movement that is dedicated to connecting and supporting women on their journey, to bring about change in our communities – where and when it is needed the most.

Many are saying could be one of the most impactful and important movements of our time. Please take a moment and look at their site: legendsandleaders.com.

On August 25, Phyllis and Viola hosted a simulcast that offered candid conversation, laughter, lessons, and inspiration, as they taught everyone that connection begins with understanding the power of your own story. They shared how they each used their pasts to create a new story for themselves, how you can do the same, and in turn use this as your foundation for building significance and legacy.
