June 2017 Newsletter

NOTE FROM SSS

Good Day,

The Summer is underway and we have been busy at Belizean Grove.

July is a very active month for us!  Registration for the Santa Fe Mini Retreat is still open (and already over 90 Grovers, TARAs, and Nyomis have signed up and space is running out!) and we are getting ready to open the room blocks for the Annual Retreat in Mexico around July 21.  We will begin collecting 2017 Dues in mid-July and the AFM Grant Application deadline is July 15th.

Read below for some news on the upcoming Retreats, new member spotlight and what our members have been up to lately.

If you have any updates you would like to share for future newsletters, please email me or Leslie Dube (leslie@belizeangrove.org).

Cheers,
Susan

SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AT TEN THOUSAND WAVES, SEPTEMBER 16TH

Join the Belizean Grove locals for the afternoon of Saturday, September 16th, at the world famous Ten Thousand Waves Spa (named one of the top 5 destination spas in the work by Travel and Leisure) for conversations in the hot tubs as well as private massages, salt glows, facials and other treatments. Guests are welcome to join us. This is not an official part of the Belizean Grove Retreat, but a not-to-miss-experience. Then have a leisurely early dinner at the wonderful Izanami restaurant at the Spa.  We have reserved hot tub space and told the Spa to expect calls to make appointments. We have also reserved space at Izanami, but need to know an approximate number that want to join us.  You will pay individually for the hot tubs, treatments and dinners.  To make a Spa appointment, call 1-505-982-9304 and go to www.tenthousandwaves.com to read more about the Spa and offerings. Please let Leslie know if you are planning to join us for the afternoon as well as the dinner by Aug 16.

WOMEN’S INTERNATIONAL STUDY CENTER (WISC) EVENT MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18:

Stay over to join us for the Women’s International Study Center (WISC) event in Santa Fe, which is sponsoring a conversation between Tarja Halonen, Finland’s first female President, 2000-2012, and our own Halla Tomasdottir, Presidential candidate for Iceland.  The topic will be “Leadership in a Changing World: The HOW of Leadership and the Importance of Values and Principles”. The conversation will be on September 18 at 5:30 pm at Santa Fe Prep School.  Tickets are $50.

That same evening, WISC is hosting an invitation only intimate dinner with Halonen and Tomasdottir at a beautiful home of the founder of Creative Santa Fe.  This is a fundraiser with a minimum donation of $500. A few invitations are still open.  Please contact Helena Ribe at hgribe@gmail.com OR 301-257-9497 for more information.

THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF SANTA FE: SHAMANS AND ASTROLOGERS:

Our resident shaman for the Belizean Grove, Dr. Jose Stevens, who has accompanied us on a number of Grove trips, lives in Santa Fe and will be available to meet with you one-on-one.  He will also give us a briefing at the La Fonda Hotel on Thursday, September 14th, on world events before we go to the Roundhouse to meet with the Governor and other dignitaries. To arrange an appointment with him, email jose@thepowerpath.com or call 505-982-8732. Do so now as he fills up appointments quickly. Bring pictures of people you want to understand your relationship to. Mention you are a Grove member and Cathy Allen to be sure he gets you in.

One of the most well known astrologers internationally also lives in Santa Fe, Tom Brady. He will see you if you call to set an appointment and mention the Grove and Cathy Allen. He will need your birthdate, time, and place. His number is 505-954-4001.  He does the appointment by phone and many Grovers have called him. He consults with many Wall Street executives and politicians.

THE SANTA FE MANGROVE:

A number of husbands and partners are coming to Santa Fe with Grovers, as well as friends and relatives, so we have set up some alternative activities for them to enjoy and have a group of our husbands organizing them. The Pre and Post Trips are open for guests as is the Friday night dinner and dance at Cathy Allen’s “Boots and Boogie” (Western attire encouraged!) Guests will be asked to pay $100 each for this dinner event.  All other events are for Grove members only.
