Hotel Information
We will be staying at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel, The “Best Hotel in Seattle” (as reported by CNBC).

If you are planning on arriving early or staying late for one of the add on trips, book your hotel rooms now! The hotel is filling up fast!

Click here to book your room in our room block! Or call: 1-800-624-0670

After you have selected the dates you are planning on staying, click on the Belizean Grove room option which will show you a few different room choices. We were able to negotiate great rates on both City View rooms and Water View rooms. We recommend the Water View rooms, which are updated and provide a breathtaking view of the Seattle waterfront and a spectacular “Seattle experience”. If you are looking to travel on a budget, however, the City View rooms provide a great budget friendly option and a wonderful view of the Seattle skyline.
If you are looking for a roommate, please click here.

2018 Neverville Weekend

Co-founder Edie Weiner has generously agreed to host members at her vacation home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania referred to as “Neverville” for a fun weekend and a contribution to the Adventures for the Mind Foundation. A few of the slots were already spoken for in Mexico, so register now as space is limited and applications will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

This popular weekend in Pennsylvania will be Friday, August 3, 2018 and extend to Sunday, August 5, 2018. Your contribution will cover everything on site: Dinner Friday night; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Saturday; and Brunch on Sunday. All linens/towels/sundries provided. All refreshments, including wine, soft drinks, healthy fruits and vegetables, available 24/7. Hiking, beach, canoeing, antiquing, horseback riding…all included for those who choose (some at a nominal additional fee).

We will take no more than 30 reservations, knowing there will be cancellations as we get closer to August. Neverville sleeps about 20, and if attendance is fully booked, all rooms (and some of the larger beds) will be shared. This is a totally casual, fun weekend. Pack nothing but a change of clothes, bathing suit, pajamas and comfortable shoes! Reserve your slot now. There will be no refunds: Cancellations will be treated as full contributions to the AFM Foundation. Cost: $600. Of that, you may claim a contribution of $450. The additional $150 will help cover on-site expenses.

Know a Potential New Member?

The Grove and Tara Membership committee just met, but will hold another meeting in early summer. The Nyomi committee is meeting at the end of May! If you would like to nominate a potential Grover, TARA, or Nyomi, please submit your completed nomination.

Please do not forward to us applications for anyone who:

1. You don’t personally know

2. You wouldn’t be willing to share a room with on a retreat

3. You do not have at least one seconder for

4. You believe is “on the way” but is not quite there yet … save the application for a future time when the candidate would have probably achieved her first success story and her application will have the ‘wow’ effect on first impression.

Please submit all applications with resume to leslie@belizeangrove.org

What the Grovers, Taras, and Nyomis Have been Up to Lately…

Catherine Allen has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the New York Institute of Technology in NYC. Many of it’s students are first generation Americans and first to attend college. The Institute is a public nonprofit college that focuses on engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, medical technology, math and science.

-Also, Catherine Allen was appointed by the Chancellor of the University of Missouri to the Chancellor’s Advisory Board, made up twelve notable alumnae, to advise the University on the next chapter of higher education and research. Cathy hosted ten honors students on the Alternative Spring Break program at Mizzou for a week in her home in Santa Fe. They volunteered for the Forest Service in repairing and maintaining trails in the national forests.
